Graduated from San Luis Obispo High School… Swam under Coaches Rachael Foe, Jeanette Kim, and Bill Humphrey… MVP (2012-2015)… PAC 7 League Champion in the 100 backstroke (2012-2013), 100 butterfly (2013-2014), 200 IM (2014)… PAC 8 League Champion in 100 butterfly (2015), 200 IM (2015)… CIF-SS Finals Qualifier (2012-2015)… Team Captain (2015)… San Luis Obispo High School record holder in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle relay… Swam club for Puma Aquatic Team under Coaches Rich Firman and Karen Neil… Team Record holder (11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 age groups)… Sectional Team (2011-2016)… Junior Olympic Team (2009-2013).

PERSONAL
Born Gabrielle Penvenne on February 12, 1997… Nicknamed “Gaby”… Majoring in Environmental Studies with the hopes of becoming an environmental policy advisor… Hopes to begin writing for The Daily Nexus outside of swimming… A unique skill is that she can tie a knot in a cherry stem with her tongue… Lists her favorite pre-race pump-up song as “Unstoppable” by Afrojack… Favorite power snack is dried mangoes… Outside of the pool, she enjoys surfing and hiking… Began swimming at age 9… Favorite aspect of college swimming is the team as a family and the relays… If she could add an event to each meet it would be the 25 “Lungbuster”… The proudest achievement of her swimming career is qualifying second for CIF finals in the 100 butterfly her senior year of high school.
