Attended Los Alamitos High School where he swam under coach Dave Carlson…Earned All Sunset League honors his senior year for the Griffins.

Matthew Drum was born December 17, 1994 in Long Beach, Calif...Majoring in History of Art and Architecture with the hopes of being an architect someday...In his free time he enjoys playing the banjo, guitar, and bass guitar...Lists his top pre-race pump up song as "Shuffle" by the Bombay Bicycle Club...Enjoys snacking on almonds before a meet...Favorite aspect of college swimming is the workouts with the team...Began swimming at age 5...If he could add an event to each meet it would be the 50 freestyle underwater...Becoming the 200 freestyle Sunset League Champion in 2013 is the proudest achievement of his swimming career.
