2017 Cross Country

Competed in six meets for his final cross season as a Gaucho. Placed 5th at the UCSB Lagoon Meet in 25:49.2. Was the No. 1 scorer for the team at the UC Riverside Invitational, clocking 24:41.9. Placed 77th at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in 24:54.5 as the No. 3 scorer. Took 9th overall at the Highlander Invitational running 18:09.5 for 6k. Scored for the first time ever at the Big West Conference Championships in cross country by placing 10th overall in 24:47.9 as the No. 2 scorer, earning himself All-Conference honors. Concluded his season at the NCAA West Regional Meet by running 31:46.2 for 10k for 110th place.

2016 Cross Country

Competed in three meets for his second cross season. Placed 10th overall at the Lagoon Open in 25:21.6. Was the No. 2 scorer for the team at the UC Riverside Invitational, running 24:44.1. Helped the team place 3rd overall at the Stanford Invitational, being the No. 4 scorer in 24:36.7. 

2015-2016 Track 

Competed in nine meets for a long overdue second season. Made a big return at the 2016 Gaucho Round-Up, clocking 8:26.43 for the 3000m for second overall, dropping 12 seconds off his previous best. Took a jaw dropping win in the 1500m in his hometown of San Diego at the 39th Annual Aztec Invitational, chopping off nine seconds off his personal best to run 3:49.78. Set another personal best in the 5000m at the UCLA Legends Invite, clocking 14:39.22. Took second in the 1500m at the Big West Challenge, clocking 3:53.01. Closed things out with a 9th place finish in the 1500m and a 6th place finish in the 5000m at the Big West Conference Championships, his first time scoring as a Gaucho.

Bourke opened the season with a 25:59.70 performance at the Lagoon Open, placing 16th overall. He opened the season running in the No. 9 position for the Gauchos. Came back at the UC Riverside Invite and placed 130th overall with an 8k performance of 26:33.9. Ran in the No. 1 spot for the Gauchos at the Cal State San Bernardino Invite, placing 12th overall with an 8k clip of 26:02.8. Ran No. 6 for the Gauchos at Santa Clara, recording an 8k time of 25:54.5 to place 145th overall. Ran No. 3 for the Gauchos at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Invite, placing 31st overall with a time of 25:56.9, his third performance under 26 minutes on the year. 

2013-2014 Track

Bourke competed in ten races for the Gauchos.  He set a personal best in the 3,000m at the Big West Challenge, running 8:39.94. At the Bryan Clay Invite he clipped off a 15:03.08 in the 5,000m to set a new personal best. Took sixth at the Cal Poly Dual in the 3,000m with a time of 8:40.85. 


Attended high school at Central Catholic in San Diego, CA. Competed in the 4 x 400m relay, 800m, 1600m and the 3200m for the Dons. Was a three time All-Western League selection in cross country and claimed two all CIF cross country awards. Finished 18th and 21st in the CIF D3 State Cross Country Meet as a senior and junior respectively. Won the Western League Finals as a senior in the 1600m. Personal best 1600m was set in the San Diego CIF Finals with a time of 4:21.15. Personal best in the 3200m was set at the Arcadia Invite at 9:21.44. Holds the Central Catholic school record in the 3200m and as a member of the 4 x 800m relay squad.


Parents are Bill and Patricia...Has one sister Anna (13)...Major is Economics...Favorite musicians are Greenday and Jack Johnson...Personal hero is Steve Prefontaine...Most memorable achievement is winning the D2 CIF meet in the 1600m.
