Lihue, Hawai'i - Brett Bennett shot a 2-over par 217, leading UC Santa Barbara to a 16th-place finish at the prestigious John Burns Intercollegiate at the Wailua Golf Cours on Kauaui.
As a team, the Gauchos finished with a 21-over par 885, six shots better than Washington State. Bennett's score was tied for 37th.
Nick Swanson finished with a 7-over par 223, tying for 72nd, while Matt Moomjian carded an 8-over par 224, tying for 78th. Brandon Bauman and Willy Moffly were one and two shots back of Moomjian, tying for 85th and 87th respectively.
Texas A&M blew the field away, recording a 29-under par 835, 17 shots better than North Carolina and UNLV. Virginia and Arizona tied for fourth, 23 shots off the pace.
The Aggies' Chandler Phillips won individual medalist honors with a 13-under par 203, three shots bettern than Blake McShea of North Carolina-Wilmington. Texas A&M's Josh Gliege and St. Mary's College's Perry Cohen tied for fourth at 7-under.
UCSB returns to action on Mar. 5-6 when it travels to the Sacramento State Invitational.
