RIVERHEAD, N.Y. - UC Santa Barbara sophomore outfielder Jarred Greene has been named to the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Team, it was announced this week.
Greene, a native of Anaheim Hills, Calif., has been tearing it up for the Riverhead Tomcats, hitting .317 (13-for-41) with two home runs and 17 RBIs in 14 games played. Last week, Greene went 3-for-3 with three doubles and seven RBIs in a 15-9 win over Ospreys, and earned Co-Player of the Week honors.
As a freshman with UCSB, Greene hit a homerun in his collegiate debut, but played just six games the rest of the year.
The Tomcats currently sit in first place with a 21-8-1 overall record and have won four straight.
The 7th Annual HCBL All-Star Game will take place Saturday, July 13 at Cochran Park in Peconic at 3:30 p.m. PT.
