In the outfield, grabbed a remarkable 154 put outs and 3 assists for a .981 fielding percentage. Picked up 5 put outs in 4 different games, including against Pacific (5/17), where Newell also recorded 2 hits and 1 RBI. Earned Honorable Mention for the All-Big West team in addition to the Big West Field Player of the Week (4/29) after hitting an incredible .643 over 4 games.
