Box Score

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women's volleyball team suffered its second straight loss at the hands of a fellow nationally-ranked team, falling 30-21, 31-29, 30-24 to No. 15 Arizona on Thursday afternoon to open the Bronco Invitational.

Wit their loss inside Santa Clara's Leavey Center, the 18th-ranked Gauchos dropped to 2-2 and suffered their first back-to-back defeats since September of 2003. In addition, UCSB had not been swept twice in a row since November of 1995. Meanwhile the Wildcats remained undefeated on the young season at 4-0 and their two-match losing streak at the hands of Santa Barbara.

A complete box score from Thursday's showdown will not be available for quite some time.

The Gauchos look to get back on the winning track Friday at 7:00 p.m. when they continue tournament play against Fresno State, which owned a 2-2 record entering its Thursday night showdown with host school Santa Clara. Live "Gametracker" scoring for the UCSB-FSU clash will hopefully be available at www.ucsbgauchos.com.
