2005 Cross Country: Red-shirted her fourth year as a Gaucho, but still had a great season racing unattached. Rothstein ran a great race at the Stanford Invite finishing in 5th place and among previous All-Americans with a 6k time of 21:26. At the Cal Poly SLO invite she would win in a new course record time of 17:22.6 over the hilly 5,000m course. She then concluded her Cross Country season at the USATF Club National Championships, finishing in 10th place among many National Class women with a time of 20:57 over 6k.
2005 Track & Field: Coming off an outstanding cross country season, Rothstein hoped to get through the track season without injury. Starting her season off with great 5000m times she ended up setting a personal best early in the season at the Long Beach Collegiate Classic with a 17:04.08 and getting a win. Then mid season she would be plagued with another track season injury. Intense cross training kept her in shape to come back for the Conference Championships a month later where she took 4th in the 10,000m final.
2004 Cross Country: Some might call Rothstein the heart and soul of the greatest women's team in UCSB history. Rothstein was a consistent 2nd runner for the Gauchos, taking 3rd at the Big West Championships, 13th at the NCAA Regional Meet, and 83rd at the NCAA Championships. Stephanie was also faced with the threat of having to drop out of school during mid-season, thankfully an anonymous donar stepped up to provide financial assistance for the Arizona native.
2004 Track & Field: Redshirted her sophomore year due to injury.
2003 Cross Country:Stephanie became just the second Gaucho woman in school history to win the Big West Individual Championship, covering the hilly 6k, San Luis Obispo course in 22:14.8 and leading a UCSB sweep of the top four spots...was also the top Gaucho finisher at the West Regional, taking 23rd to garner All-Region honors with a 6k best 21:05...finished 123rd at the NCAA National Championship as Santa Barbara's
#3 runner...placed 3rd at the UCSB Lagoon Open running her personal best on the
5k course of 18:04.
2003 Track & Field:
Stephanie won the Cal Poly Dual Meet 5,000m in a personal best 17:47.01.
2002 Cross Country::
Rothstein was the #3 runner for the Gauchos, finishing 15th at Big West
Conference Championship as a freshman and helping UCSB to 2nd place, their
highest team finish since 1996.
