• The Week Ahead
After grabbing two victories at home and resting for a week, the Gauchos are set to host the UCSB Invite at Campus Pool this weekend. On Saturday, the Gauchos will play Pacific at 10:30 am before facing UC Irvine at 2:00 pm. On Sunday, UCSB will participate in two exhibition games matches against the USA 18U National Teams at 11:00 am and 3:30 pm.

• For The Record
UCSB currently holds a record of 11-8. After, capturing two more home wins, the Gauchos are 5-1 at Campus Pool. UCSB ranks as No. 12 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Top-20 Poll, maintaining its ranking from last week.

• Eye on the Tiger
UCSB will open up tournament play this Saturday against No. 17 Pacific at 10:30 am. Pacific carries a record of 17-6, but is coming off of an 11-4 loss to No. 3 Cal. Pacific is also 1-6 this season against teams currently ranked in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Top-20 Poll. The Gauchos are 6-1 in their last seven games against Pacific and have eliminated the Tigers in the conference tournament the last three years in a row. In the teams' most recent meeting, UCSB defeated Pacific, 14-8, in the 2009 Big West Tournament First Round.

• Attacking the Anteaters
Saturday afternoon the Gauchos will take on No. 13 UC Irvine at 2:00 pm. UC Irvine comes into the game with a record of 8-10, having just registered an 11-7 victory over Bucknell. UC Irvine is 4-8 this season against teams currently ranked in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Top-20 Poll. The Gauchos have already split two games with Anteaters this season, winning the most recent, 11-3, on Feb. 28 at the UC Irvine Invitational.

• Gaucho Goals
After scoring an amazing eight goals in the Gauchos' past two games, senior Lizzie Rouleau became UCSB's leading scorer for the season. Rouleau has put away a total of 22 goals this season, including five games with multiple scores. Christie Clark is now second on the team for scoring with 20 goals, including three two-goal games. Freshman Shelby Haroldson now sits at third for goals. After recording a hat-trick against Cal State San Bernardino, she brings her total count to 17, including five multiple-goal performances. Next on the list is junior Katie Kepner, who has recorded 13 total goals and also leads the Gauchos with 21 assists.

• Defensive Domination
Throughout the season, junior Kathryn Nelson has led the UCSB on the defensive end of the pool. To this date, Nelson has racked up an impressive 30 steals and eight field blocks. Proving her versatility, Nelson has also recorded 11 goals this season and ranks second on the team for assists with seven. Second for steals is freshman Shelby Haroldson with 23, followed by Christie Clark with 17 and Nancy Ruano with 14. Lizzie Rouleau and Claire Buchanan rank second on the team in field blocks with six each.

• We're Going Streaking
Three Gauchos have recently started new scoring streaks. Lizzie Rouleau began a powerful two-game streak, by scoring four goals in each of the Gaucho's last two matches. Claire Buchanan and Nancy Ruano also started streaks in UCSB's most recent games, after each picked up a goal against Cal State San Bernardino and Bucknell.

• Goalie Gossip
Ruth Milne has recorded a total of 167 saves this season, including a 15-save game against UC Davis (2/7) and multiple games in which she recorded a dozen saves. After starting 16 of the Gauchos' 19 games, Milne is averaging 10.8 saves per game, and 7.4 goals against per game.

• Big West Here We Come
The Gauchos will begin Big West Conference play next weekend, with a pair of important home games. On Friday, April 2, UCSB will play Long Beach State. The following day, the Gauchos will face UC Irvine yet again. Both games will start at 12:00 pm at UCSB's Campus Pool.
