Strong Second Half Propels Northridge to 11-6 Win Over UCSB

The match for 11th place in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation started off slowly with Santa Barbara scoring four first-half goals to Northridge's two. The Matadors opened the third period on a tear, scoring five goals to UCSB's two. With a 7-6 lead over the Gauchos, the Matadors shut out the Santa Barbara offense all the while scoring four goals. The strong second half helped CSUN to take 11th place in the MPSF and the Gauchos took 12th.

Jessica Coy and Christie Cruz led the Matadors, each recording a hat trick while Cruz scored all three of her goals in the second half, including two in the third quarter. Lindsay Knott led the Gauchos with two goals in the loss. In the goal, Jillian Stapf recorded a tournament-high 15 saves to pace the Matadors while Jenny Gonzales was credited with eight stops in the cage for UCSB. The Gauchos finish the season at 17-23 while the Matadors not sit at 15-19 overall.
