LOS ANGELES - Undefeated and top-ranked Southern California piled-up an 8-3 halftime lead and then coasted to a 16-9 win over 13th-ranked UC Santa Barbara in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo match in Los Angeles on Friday.
The Trojans (24-0) were led by All-Americans Kami Craig and Moriah Van Norman who combined for seven goals. Patty Cardenas added a pair and seven other Trojans tallied one.
UCSB (13-15) was paced by Jen D'Anna who had four goals, bringin her career total to 140 which ranks second in school history. She has tallied 47 goals this season, the most on the team.
The Gauchos will host their second Mini-Tournament on Saturday at Campus Pool. UCSB will host Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Monterey Bay, Pomona College and Claremont College in an all-day, round-robin event. UCSB's seniors will be honored prior to the final match of the day at 6:00 p.m.
