2010: Played in 28 games as a true
freshman...Scored four goals for the Gauchos...Also tallied 14
steals, four assists, four earned ejections and two field
blocks...First collegiate goal was scored during a 12-6 win over
Pamona Pitzer (Jan. 23)...Scored in back-to-back overtime games
against Indiana and UC Irvine (Feb. 6).
HIGH SCHOOL
Played at Cabrillo High School for coach Corey McIntyre...Was
twice named the Los Padres League MVP (2008 and 2009)...A
three-time All-CIF Division IV First Team pick...Helped lead the
Conquistadores to the 2007 CIF Championship...Also won the Los
Padres League all four years of her prep career...In 2009, Cabrillo
qualified for the CIF semifinals...Also competed in swimming...A
standout in the classroom, she was a four-time Principal's List
nominee and graduated in the Legion of Academic Merit (for having a

Played for Santa Barbara Water Polo Club...Helped her team to a

Rachel Anne Nelson was born on July 7, 1991 in Long Beach,
Calif....Parents are John and Deanne Nelson...Has an older sister,
Kathryn, who is also on the UCSB water polo team and whom she names
as her personal hero...Is majoring in biology at UCSB and aspires
to one day be a veterinarian...Names "Avatar" as her favorite movie
while "To Kill a Mockingbird" is her favorite book...Enjoys
