Five Gauchos Earn ACWPC All-Academic Awards

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Five UC Santa Barbara women's water polo players have earned 2019 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic Awards, the organization announced Thursday.

Senior Shannon Moran, junior Sarah Snyder, and freshmen Julia Santos and Scout Brown earned "Superior" recognition, meaning that they possess a grade point average between 3.41 and 3.70, and freshman Caitlyn Snyder was recognized at the "Excellent" level, meaning she possesses a grade point average between 3.20 and 3.40.

The Gauchos finished the 2019 season with a 22-8 record and a No. 9 national ranking. Sarah Snyder paced the team with 66 goals, earning Second Team All-Big West recognition. Moran had 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points, while Santos and Brown each tallied two goals and one assist. Caitlyn Snyder was named to the Big West's All-Freshman Team after scoring 30 goals and a team-leading 33 assists for 63 points.
