Charlene Conley enjoyed her best year as a Gaucho in 1998...A First Team All-Big West selection she finished third in the Big West Conference with 4.15 kills per game...Was also ninth in the conference with a .320 hitting percentage...Had double-digit kills in 29 of her 32 matches played...Her 4.15 kills per game was the sixth best single-season mark in school history...Her .320 hitting percentage tied her for the eighth best single-season mark in school history...Also had a career bests with 187 digs and 21 block solos as a junior...Had a career-high 29 kills against UCLA at Pauley Pavilion on October 15th...Her 17 digs vs. Pacific on November 5th and three block solos vs. Pepperdine September 18th were also career bests...Her 72 total attacks against UCLA were also a career-high...Had double-digit kills in all three of UCSB's NCAA Tournament matches: 12 vs. Santa Clara, 16 vs. UCLA and 16 vs. Wisconsin...Conley was named to the All-Tournament teams for both the Red Raider Classic and Judy Bellomo Classic.

1997
Played in all 37 matches and a team-high 127 games in her first full season...Finished the year with 253 kills, 13 aces, 126 digs and 88 blocks...Her 1.99 kills per game ranked her fourth on the team...Had 13 kills vs. 11th-ranked Michigan State on September 12th...Enjoyed seven double-digit kill performances...In the NCAA second round victory over UCLA she notched twelve kills, five digs and three blocks...Had season highs of nine digs and eight blocks in UCSB's victory over 15th-ranked Loyola Marymount on September 6th...Set a season-high 15 kills with six digs and four blocks at the NCAA Mountain Regional victory over Texas, hitting .429 on 28 total attacks.

1996
After undergoing arthroscopic surgery on her injured knee at the beginning of the season, Conley returned and contributed towards the end of the 1996 season...She appeared in ten matches and 26 games...Finished with 39 kills and 16 blocks during her limited action...Had a season-high ten kills (10-1-16, .563) against Cal Poly...Came off the bench to record five kills and four blocks in the NCAA win over Northern Illinois...Added seven kills and four blocks in a second round playoff match at Loyola Marymount.

1995
Redshirted her first year while recovering from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in a high school basketball game.
