Dan Ahiers is in his third season as UCSB's assistant coach.
He serves as the recruiting coordinator and assists in all areas of the program including the training and development of the team, scouting opponents, coordinating travel and overseeing the team's community outreach programs.
Dan also works with Gold Medal Squared Camps in the summer.
He came to UCSB after having served as the Club Director for the Carmel Beach Volleyball Club where he helped found the non-profit organization while also acting as the recruiting coordinator for all players and coaches.
Ahiers had also been the head coach at Carmel High since 2007, turning the team into a playoff-caliber squad that had three consecutive winning seasons for the first time in school history. The team went undefeated in league play in 2009 and Ahiers coached four players to all-county teams while eight others were named to all-league teams.
Ahiers has also previously coached for numerous camp and club teams and has been an assistant coach at Monterey Peninsula College and Cal State Monterey Bay.
Dan earned a degree from California State University Monterey Bay in Education with a Minor in Coaching and Sport Management.
