David primarily works with the outside hitters, but is also a key part of the program's recruiting efforts and as well as serving as a statistical analyst.

Fischer brings a lengthy resume to the program. He most recently served as the head coach at Oxnard College, where he was hired in 2008. He was responsible for all adminstrative and volleyball duties involving the team. David brought an immediate impact to the program by starting his tenure on a five-game winning streak.

Previous to his time at Oxnard, Fischer was the head coach at The Brentwood School from 2005-2008, where he recorded two undefeated seasons during his three years in charge of the program.

Fischer started his coaching career at the Los Angeles Athletic Club in 2000, where he trained aspiring volleyball players aged 12-18. A number of his teams at the LAAC were nationally ranked and played in nationally sanctioned tournaments.

Prior to and concurrent with his coaching career, David was an elite volleyball talent himself. He competed on the AVP circuit for thirteen years. He represented the United States internationally at the Pan Am Games in the Domican Republic in 2003. Fischer was part of the Stanford volleyball program that ranked No. 2 in the nation in both 1992 and 1994.

A Dean's List student at Stanford, David will be a candidate to receive his Master's Degree from Cal State Northridge in the fall, where he holds a 4.0 GPA.
