Ruth McGolpin joined the UCSB Women's Volleyball coaching staff in August 2012. A former three-sport prep star, Ruth primarily works with the Gaucho setters and liberos.

McGolpin's coaching career consists of stints at Northern Arizona University, the University of South Carolina, and Colorado Mesa University.

Prior to those stops, Ruth lent her coaching prowess to the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club and Dos Pueblos High School.

As a player, Ruth was a four-year starting setter at Northern Arizona University from 1987-1991. She was inducted into the Northern Arizona University Hall of Fame in 2000 after setting a school record her senior year with 1,519 assists. She was twice named as an All-Conference pick and was also a member of the Big Sky All-Decade team for the years 1982-1992.

Ruth and her husband, Scott, have two children- Samuel and Sarah.
