As a freshman, Taylor made quite the impression, setting a number of UCSB and Big West Conference records en route to an accolade-filled season. The first Gaucho freshman to be named an All-American since 1997, Taylor led the entire nation in digs with 792. That total obliterated the previous UCSB and BWC record of 652 digs, set in 2011 by Chelsey Lowe. In addition to her impressive dig total, her 5.87 digs per game average ranked first in the conference and region, while ranking eighth nationally. She recorded 30 or more digs in a match 12 times, almost twice as many times as any other player in the NCAA. Her 41 digs against Cal State Fullerton on Oct. 19 were the most by a Gaucho in the rally-scoring era, the most ever in a conference match, and tied for the most in program history for any match. Not limited to just defense, Taylor vastly improved on her serving over the year, ending the season with the fourth-most aces per game (0.27/g) in Big West conference play.

Earned 3.5 letters at Saint Francis High School under Leah Hall... Was team captain junior and senior year... Won player of the year her junior year as well as MVP of WCAL league and MVP of the state... Was ranked in the top fifty in the country during her junior year as well as winning State Championships... Was an All-Tournament selection in both the Santa Barbara Tournament and the Los Gatos Tournament... Helped her team recieve all team all league senior year... Won Female Athlete of the Year senior year.

Played setter and libero for the City Beach Club team going 18-1 sophomore and junior year... Recieved a bronze medal freshman year... Was Captain of City Beach junior year winning the SoCal qualifier.
