Day One Heptathlon Results Get Acrobat Reader

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -- After day one of the Big West Multi-Event Championships, Nick deBeaubien is in ninth place in the decathlon, and Lauri Schakett is in tenth place in the heptathlon. deBeaubien currently has 3181 points, and Schakett has 2611 points.

deBeaubien had the fifth-best time in the 400m with a 52.63, which added 697 points to his total score. Schakett's best performance was in the 100m hurdles, where she picked up 746 points. Freshman Amanda Lee is also competing in the heptathlon, and she's currently in thirteenth place with 2368 points.

The leaders after the first day are Chris Richardson of Long Beach State and Sharon Day of Cal Poly. Richardson currently has 3998 points, highlighted by wins in the long jump (7.28m) and shot put (15.40m). Day has 3418 points after winning the high jump (1.83m) and coming in second in the 100m hurdles (14.57).

The remaining events for the decathlon are the 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500m run. For the heptathlon, it's the long jump, javelin, and 800m run. The decathlon resumes at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, with the heptathlon following at noon.
