Barbara Nwaba claimed second place in the high jump last weekend at the New Mexico Classic held at the Albuquerque Convention Center. She cleared 5'10.5" which qualifies for NCAA provisional status set at 5'10". Those athletes who jump at least 6'0" automatically qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships and those who score above the provisional mark fill the remaining spots.

The 2011 outdoor track and field season for the Gauchos will begin in two weeks with the Fourth Annual Gaucho Round-Up on Saturday, Feb. 19 at Westmont College. The fundraiser kicks-off with the track and field meet at 11 a.m. at the Westmont Track and continues with the Round-Up at 4:30pm at Corwin Pavilion on the UCSB campus.
