Vargas improved her 400m time by more than four seconds during the course of the season, culminating in a 56.23 at the Big West Conference Championships...That time was good for sixth at the meet, and places her at eighth on the UCSB all-time list...Took second place in the 400m at the Big West Challenge Cup, coming across the line in 57.49...Was the winner of the 400m at the Cal Poly dual meet with a time of 56.92...Her best time in the 200m was 25.42, which she also set at the Cal Poly dual meet.

Vargas was her team's MVP in all four of her seasons...Earned All-Valley Oak League honors her junior and senior seasons...Was a scholar-athlete and one of the top 100 students in her school.
