This unwavering athlete is no doubt the most successful walk-on distance woman ever to wear a UCSB uniform. With multiple top ten marks in school history as well as several top returning times in the conference, she will be a major contributor for her senior year in 2007. In 2006, she regained her form from 2004 as she dropped more of her times and thrust herself onto the regional and national stages. At the prestigious Oregon Invitational, she went out in windy conditions and out-kicked a fellow West Regional rival to win the 5,000m in 16:28.28. A week later, she would run another personal best at home in the 1,500m with a 4:29.26. At the Big West Championships, Lewis picked up two all-conference finishes in the 1500m and the 5,000m. She qualified for the NCAA National Championships on an at-large berth, her first appearance at nationals.
