Recovered from surgery during season...Trained in Spain over the summer of 2001.

Successfully underwent surgery in February and redshirted her season in order to recover.

Ran her first season track and field as a Gaucho.

Recorded a personal best 20:42.4 on UCSB's 5K course in her first season as a member of the Gauchos' cross country team.

Attended Huntington Beach High School...Member state title contending cross country squad...Qualified the 1,500m for the Mt. SAC Invitational...Ran the 1,500m in 4:56.03 and 800m in 2:18 for personal bests.
