Beechan qualified for Conference in the steeplechase by running 11:15.48 at Cal/Nevada, a time that stands as the 10th-best in UCSB history...Struggled at the Conference meet and came away with a time of 12:12.36...Took second in the 3000m at the All-Cal Challenge, crossing the line in 10:20.08.

High School
Beechan was Sunbelt League Champion in the 2006 and 2007 cross country seasons...Was All-League from 2005-2007 and All-Riverside County from 2006-2007...In track, she was 1600m and 3200m League Champion in 2007 and 2008...She qualified for CIF Finals in the 1600m, where she ran a personal best of 5:08...Took 20th in the CIF-SS finals in cross country...Also participated in a half-marathon, completing the 13.1 mile course in 1 hour 36 minutes...Scholar athlete from 2005-2008, and had a class rank of 8th/600.

Personal
Majoring in biology and hopes to become a physical therapist...Her hobbies include photography, mountain biking, camping, and fishing...Would like to thank her brother Nick for being a long-time running buddy and an inspiration, her parents for their continual support, and her high school coaches for believing in her.
