Set a new personal best in the heptathlon at the Big West Multi's
placing sixth with a score of 4590 and moving up to sixth on the
all-time Gaucho list
2009
Began training for the heptathlon and set a personal best at the
Big West Championships with a score of 4258...Cleared a personal
best of 5'5" (1.65m) in the high jump at the Sam Adams
Combined...Had a wind-aided triple jump of 37'4" (11.38m) at the
Cal Poly Invitational...Was fourth in the triple jump at the Big
West Challenge Cup with a mark of 36'4" (11.07m).
2008
In her freshman season, Ajoku qualified for Conference in the high
jump. She tied for sixth place by clearing 5'3" (1.60m)...Took
fourth in the high jump at the Big West Challenge Cup with the same
mark...Her top mark in the long jump was 17'8" (5.38m), set at the
Azusa Pacific Invitational...Top mark in the triple jump was 36'5"
(11.10m) at the dual meet against Cal Poly.
High School
Mt. Hamilton division champion in the high jump in 2007...Also tied for fourth in the Central Coast Section championships...Was MVP and team captain of Santa Teresa's track team in her junior and senior seasons...Holds the school record in the high jump at 5'4".
Personal
Ajoku's parents, Julius and Nnenna, were born in Nigeria and came
to America in their early twenties for a better education...She is
the second child of three girls...Majoring in sociology and hopes
to become a nurse practitioner...Is an avid sports fan who likes to
watch football, basketball, and soccer...Her favorite movies
include "Remember the Titans", "The Notebook", and "Crash"...Sings
in a church gospel choir.
