Santa Barbara, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis squad won all six singles matches and swept the three doubles matches to pick up a 7-0 victory over visiting Westmont Thursday. Eleven Gauchos saw action on the court as UCSB gained some positive momentum heading into a weekend road trip to northern California.
With the win, UCSB evened its season mark at 6-6. Westmont fell to 4-10.
The Gauchos won all of their singles matches in straight sets. At No. 1, junior Marta Simic cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lorelei Belindean. At No. 3, freshman Asagi Onaga didn't lose a game as she rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jennie Dunn. Senior Kristen Wilson followed suit at No. 6, defeating Emily Hughes 6-0, 6-0.
Wilson had a pair of wins on the day as she teamed with freshman Bryanna Ojeda to take an 8-4 win over Belindean and Ayres at No. 1 doubles.
The Gauchos play at UC Davis March 31 and at Big West opponent Pacific April 1.
