SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- Five of the eight members of the UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team were honored with All-Big West Conference acknowledgement.
The five selections for Santa Barbara ties Long Beach State for the most players honored from any team in the Big West this season.
Leading the charge as she's done all season, Amit Lev Ari earned First Team Singles recognition. With a 20-8 overall singles record and a 14-4 dual match record, Lev Ari made the jump from court four early on in the season to court one with a 7-1 Big West record.
The junior was also named to Second Team Doubles when paired up with Elizaveta Volodko. Volodko and Lev Ari went 5-0 this season including an undefeated conference campaign with three wins. The duo was one of only two doubles pairs to go undefeated against conference foes with three or more matchups, and the sole doubles pair honored to win all of its contests.
Volodko earned dual recognition as well with Second Team Singles honors and a 4-3 conference record while freshman Tiffany Lagarde went 5-1 in Big West play and was additionally named to the Second Team Singles.
Yamada boasted a 13-11 overall doubles record this season and Valero went 9-8 in dual match doubles.
