Santa Barbara, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara senior Palina Dubavets (Minsk, Belarus/TCU) garnered her second Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honor this season as she helped her squad clinch the conference regular season title.

Dubavets won twice at No. 1 singles and twice at No. 1 doubles in UCSB's 4-0 victories over CSUN and Cal Poly.  The wins improved the Gauchos to 7-1 in league play as the program won its first regular season title.

"It feels good to be player of the week for me and the team right before the Big West Tournament. It gives more confidence to both me and the team, who relies on me at the No. 1 spot," Dubavets said.

Dubavets topped CSUN's Monika Van de Vondel by a 6-1, 6-3 score and took care of Cal Poly's MacKenzie Worsnop in nearly identical fashion, winning 6-2, 6-3.

The No. 42-ranked tandem of Dubavets and Natalie Da Silveira easily won a pair of No. 1 doubles matches, including a 6-0 triumph over the Mustang duo of Worsnop and Abigail Bacharach.

No. 1 seeded UCSB will face either No. 8 UC Irvine or No. 9 UC Riverside this Friday, April 27 in the Big West Tournament Quarterfinals. Included is the live stream link for the match:
