SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis program will host the second annual Gaucho Classic Friday-Sunday Oct. 7-9 at three different campus locations.
"There's a good mix of out of region teams and conference opponents," said UCSB head coach Pete Kirkwood. "It should give us a real good idea of where we're at as a team."
The tournament is sanctioned by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and features players from UCSB, Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge, Loyola Marymount, Northern Arizona, University of Wyoming and Colorado State. The tournament's three flights will be played simultaneously at UCSB's Robertson Gymnasium Courts, Recreation Center Courts and harder Stadium Courts.
Each player will take part in four singles matches and three doubles matches during the three-day event.
Admission to the tournament is free at all three campus locations.
