Allie Knight Named MPSF Female Swimmer of the Week

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara freshman Allie Knight was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Female Swimmer of the Week after an outstanding weekend at the Arena Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.

The San Diego, Calif. native posted three individual NCAA 'B' cuts, all career bests. She turned in a 'B' cut in the 200 backstroke (1:58.36), a mark that also won the consolation final as well as being the second fastest time in Gaucho history for that event.

Knight's other `B' cuts came in her 200 IM bonus final victory (2:01.93) and 400 IM (4:19.00, 10th).

Knight also swam on the Gauchos' 200 and 400 medley teams posting a 26.75 backstroke split in the 200 and a 57.69 backstroke split in the 400. She swam the 100 backstroke in the prelims as an exhibition swimmer and posted a time of 56.50.
