HIGH SCHOOL
Attended San Ramon Valley High School where she swam for coach
Heather Johnston...Was a six-time All-American for the
Wolves...Earned All-American honors in the 200 free as a senior; in
the 200 free, 500 free, 200 medley relay and 400 free relay as a
junior; and in the 200 medley relay as a sophomore...Set school
records in the 200 free, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400
free relay...Helped San Ramon Valley to the North Coast Section
title in 2009 and a second-place finish in 2010...In 2009, she took
fifth-place at sections in the 200 free and sixth in the 500
free...Also competed in fast pitch softball, soccer and she also
ski raced...Also swam for the Crow Canyon Sharks under coaches Dan
Cottam and Ethan Hall...Was one of the original eight members of
the team, which now is a team of approximately 80 swimmers...Was a
two-time Scholar All-American.
PERSONAL
Taylor Elin Munk was born on April 6, 1992 in Walnut Creek,
Calif....Parents are Dale and Kristin Munk...Has two sisters, Kori
and Robbie...Has yet to declare a major at UCSB, but is interested
in pursuing a career in sports therapy or training...Enjoys skiing,
going to the beach, visiting her family's cabin in Cold Springs and
spending time with friends...Favorite movies are "Stepbrothers" and
"The Notebook"...Says winning the North Coast Section team title in
2009 is her most memorable athletic achievement...Names her Papa
Bob as her personal hero...Her favorite aspect of college swimming
is being a part of a family/team that is dedicated to achieving the
same goals.
