    Santa Barbara, Calif. – Head Coach Matt Macedo has been awarded Men’s MPSF Coach of the Year after his first year as UCSB’s head coach. Freshman Heaven Quintana snagged Women’s MPSF Freshman of the Year for her impressive first collegiate season at UCSB.

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. – To conclude an exciting week in East Los Angeles, the UCSB Gaucho men (831) emerged as MPSF Champions. The Gaucho women (623.5) pulled through, holding second place in front of UC Davis (593).

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Day two of MPSF Conference Championships saw a pair of individual event wins, and more strong finishes for the Gauchos. The Gaucho men (273) pulled ahead of Hawaii (229), while the women (208) hold second place just behind Hawaii.
  • Gaucho Women in First Place Lead, Men Tied for First Day One of MPSF Conference Championships

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Gaucho swimmers took on day one of MPSF conference by breaking three UCSB school records in the women’s 800 yard freestyle relay, men’s 200 yard medley relay, and the 800 yard freestyle relay. In addition, the women’s 200 yard medley relay and the men’s 800 yard freestyle relay each broke a conference record. The Gaucho women (74) finished day one with a first place lead in front of Hawaii (70), while the men (72) tied for first with University of Hawaii (72).

    SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --For the third consecutive week, UCSB Gaucho swimmers have taken over MPSF swimmer of the week awards. This week, it’s senior Julia Mikota and junior Jonathan Panchak who snagged the nomination, after taking two individual wins and one relay win each in the last dual meet of the season against Cal Poly.
  • Gauchos Lap Mustangs in Landslide Win for Last Dual Meet of the Season

    SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. The UCSB Gaucho swimmers took on the Cal Poly Mustangs this Saturday for the last dual meet of the season, both the Gaucho men and women dominated individual and relay events. Logan Hotchkiss, Cheyenne Low, Heaven Quintana, Jonathan Panchak, Julia Mikota and Mason Tittle each grabbed a pair of individual event wins. The Gauchos ended the day with a score of 190.5 to 101.5 for the men, and 165 to 129 for the women.
  • Billy Mullis and Heaven Quintana Win MPSF Swimmers of the Week

    UCSB Swimmers Billy Mullis and Heaven Quintana have been selected as MPSF swimmers of the week, after leading their team to an exciting win against University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the U.S. Air Force Academy. This is the second consecutive week, and third time this season that the UCSB Gaucho swimmers have received the honor.
  • UCSB Sweeps UNLV, Gaucho Men Pull Win Against Previously Undefeated U.S. Air Force Academy Men

    In a three-way split meet, UC Santa Barbara faced off against UNLV and the U.S. Air Force Academy. The Gaucho women earned a win against UNLV, lead by freshman Heaven Quintana who grabbed five individual event wins total. The final score was 159.50 to 126.50. The Gaucho men dominated the men of UNLV with a score of 173 to 120, highlighted by junior Billy Mullis, who broke his own school record in the 200 backstroke. The men also overcame a 32 point diving deficit to hand the previously undefeated U.S. Air Force Academy their first loss. The final score was 148 to 146
  • Billy Mullis and Cheyenne Low Selected as MPSF Athletes of the Week

    UC Santa Barbara junior Billy Mullis and senior team captain Cheyenne Low were both selected as MPSF athletes of the week for the second time this year, after leading impressive wins over UC Davis for the women, and University of Pacific for the men.
  • UCSB Men Dominate Distance Events, Pull Win Over University of Pacific

    In the last home meet of the season, the UC Santa Barbara men and women faced off against the University of Pacific Tigers. While senior and team captain Cheyenne Low grabbed two individual wins and one relay win for the women, the Gaucho men dominated the distance events. The women came in second to UOP with a final score of 158-120. The Gaucho men finished the meet by narrowly edging out the Tigers, with a final score of 147-140.
  • UCSB Women Out-Swim UC Davis in 64 Point Win

    In the second to last home meet of the season, the UCSB Gaucho women pulled a staggering win over the UC Davis Aggies, with a final score of 160.5 to 96.5. Leading the impressive win were Julia Mikota and Heaven Quintana, earning two individual wins each.
  • Men’s Team Take First, Women Third at A3 Performance Invitational

    Exceptionally fast swims and new personal best times gave the UC Santa Barbara men’s and women’s swimming team “the best performance at A3 Performance Invitational” Head Coach Matt Macedo has seen yet in his three years at UCSB. The Gaucho men won the meet in a staggering 2028 points, nearly 900 points ahead of the second-place finisher. The women placed third in the meet with 949 points.
  • UCSB Men Lengthen Lead, Women Move Up to Third Going in to Final Day of A3 Performance Invitational

    On the second day of competition at the A3 Performance Invitational, several key wins put the women up into third place. Heaven Quintana recorded two individual wins, giving the Gauchos 64 points alone from the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. The men lengthened their lead with exceptional performances from Billy Mullis and Jonathan Panchak.
  • UCSB Men in First Place After Day One of A3 Invitational, Women Holding Fourth

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The UCSB Gaucho men and women have completed day one of the annual A3 Performance Invitational this Friday. After the first day, the Gaucho men have secured more than a 255 point lead on UC San Diego. The women have secured fourth place, right behind the women of San Diego State University.
  • UCSB Victory for Women, Men Narrowly Edged Out in Dual Meet Against UC San Diego

    SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – In the third home dual meet of the season, the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos faced off against UC San Diego Tritons. Cheyenne Low and Julia Mikota led the Gaucho women to a victory over the Triton women with a final score of 148-106. Mason Tittle grabbed two victories in his individual events, and the Gaucho men went one-two in three individual events throughout the meet, narrowly coming in second to UCSD men with a final score of 137-124.

    SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – In the classic Halloween weekend dual meet matchup against, UC Santa Barbara swept the men and women of Cal Poly. Chris Nolan, Billy Mullis, Logan Hotchkiss and Jonathan Panchak each recorded a pair of individual wins to lead the Gaucho men into a victory over the Cal Poly men with a final score of 161-129. Cheyenne Low, Julia Mikota and Heaven Quintana also each racked up two individual wins, helping the Gaucho women finish the meet with a final score of 171-123.
  • UCSB Women Debut 2016-17 Season in Multi-Way Dual Meet in Los Angeles

    For their debut meet of the season, the women of UC Santa Barbara competed in the 2016 UCLA Breast Cancer Awareness multi-way dual meet against the women of UCLA, University of San Diego, UC Davis, Oregon State University, and Florida Gulf Coast University. The Gaucho women earned a win against USD, 136-94, and Oregon State, 129-75, but fell to UCLA, 133-66, UC Davis, 121-83, and Florida Gulf Coast, 131.5-72.5.
