A terror on the base paths, Simien swiped 15 bases in 17 attempts to lead the Gauchos and place her second in the Big West...Ranked amongst UCSB's top five in eight offensive categories and the top three in five (Avg., R, H, SB, TB)...The teams third leading hitter, batting .259 with 28 hits (3rd) in 108 at bats (4th)...Only one other Gaucho crossed the plate more than the 17 she accrued in a team fourth best 125 plate appearances...Put together an eight game hit streak to go with her two three hit performances against UC Riverside and Cal State Northridge...Appeared in 46 games, the fourth highest total on the team, snagging 28 total bases.

Prepped at Laguna Hills High School under head coach Cary Crouch...Helped lead the Hawks to three straight Seaview League championships...Had a career batting average of .429 and also was named first team all-league on three occasions...In her junior year, she earned All-CIF honors and was also the Seaview Leagues' Offensive MVP...Was also the captain of Laguna Hills' cross country team...She made Principal's Honor Roll all four years with a 3.5 GPA or higher each year.
