2010 All-Big West Honorable Mention
2010: Made a team-leading 30 appearances and 21
starts...Posted an 8-13 record and went 6-6 in Big West play...Was
second on the team with her 4.60 ERA, but led the squad with a 3.08
ERA in conference games...Tossed 11 complete games and posted two
shutouts...Is tied 10th in the UCSB record books for career wins
with 26 and is seventh with 11 career shutouts...Led UCSB for wins,
innings pitched (126.1), complete games (11) and strikeouts (67)
for the second consecutive year...Was named the Big West Pitcher of
the Week after leading the Gauchos to a sweep of Long Beach State
(May 1-2)...She pitched three complete games during the series and

2009: Made 33 appearances and started 23 games in the
circle during a stellar freshman campaign...Led the Gauchos and was
sixth in the Big West with her 1.93 ERA...Posted an 18-9 record,
tying the UCSB record for wins in a single season...Half of her
wins were shutout victories...Got her first win of the season after
tossing two shutout innings of relief against Wichita State (Feb.
6)...Threw a perfect game in her first career start against Wagner
(Feb. 8), she struck out eight batters in the win...It marked the
first perfect game in UCSB history...Earned Big West Player of the
Week honors on four occasions during the season...Seven of her
shutouts went the full seven innings and in each of those games,
she held the opposition to four or fewer hits...Arguably, her
biggest win of the season was over then-ranked No. 4 UCLA (Mar. 24)
when she pitched a complete game, allowing just two earned runs on
six hits with three walks and three strikeouts...Posted a
season-best nine strikeouts against San Diego (Mar. 11) and UC
Riverside (Mar. 28)...Shut out then-ranked No. 22 Fresno State
(Apr. 6), allowing just two hits and one walk, while fanning five
in the complete game win...Led the league in opponent batting
average (.204) and was third in wins (18), sixth in batters struck
out (115), seventh in games started (23), eighth in appearances
(33), ninth in innings pitched (148.2) and 10th in games in relief
(10)...In conference play, she ranked first among league leaders in
batters struck out (61), tied first in appearances (16), third in
wins (8), fourth in opposing batting average (.213), tied fourth in
games finished (5), fifth in innings pitched (72.1), tied fifth in
starts (11) and relief appearances (5), sixth in batters struck out
looking (12) and seventh with a 1.74 ERA.
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended El Camino Real High School where she played under head
coach Lori Chandler...As a senior she posted a 25-7 record with a
1.32 ERA...As a junior her record was 23-6 in the circle and she
posted a .892 ERA...During the 2007 and 2008 seasons she tallied a
combined 707 strikeouts - leading the City Section both seasons -
and also posted 33 shutouts...Was a two-time first team all-league
selection, two-time league MVP and two-time CIF All-City
selection...Named the USMC Most Distinguished Female Athlete in
2008...Was twice named to the Daily News All-Area Team...As a
freshman and sophomore she earned junior varsity first team
all-league honors and in 2006 was named the City Section's JV
Player of the Year after leading El Camino Real to the JV City
Section championship...Led her team to a runners-up finish at the
2007 City Section Championships...Was a three-time
scholar-athlete.

Krista Cobb was born on Mar. 9, 1990 in West Hills,
Calif....Daughter of Mike and Kathy Cobb...Has a younger brother,
Stephen...Is majoring in sociology at UCSB and has aspirations of
becoming either a psychologist or therapist...If she did not play
softball, soccer would be her sport of choice...Names the LA
Dodgers as her favorite sports team...Most memorable moment in
athletics was participating in the 2008 CIF Finals...Favorite
aspect of Santa Barbara is softball.
