DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara softball team took on UC Davis on Saturday afternoon and fell to the Aggies 2-0 at La Rue Field.
UCSB drops to 13-24 overall and 0-4 in conference with the loss while the Aggies are now 21-12, 3-1.
After two scoreless innings to start the game, UC Davis broke through with a solo homerun in the bottom of the third innning. The Aggies would tack on another via solo homerun in the sixth off the bat of Isabella Leon.
UCSB scattered seven hits in the game, led by a 2-for-3 day from Alyssa Diaz. Alyssa Lazatin, Sammy Fabian, Genesis Ramirez, Melani Menor and Samantha Lujan also registered hits in the game. In the circle, Emily Schuttish (2-3) went the distance for a complete game, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out five in the loss.
Alyse Rojas and Leon went 2-for-3 to lead UC Davis at the plate.
The Gauchos return to action tomorrow, Sunday, Apr. 8, in a doubleheader against UC Davis beginning at 12:00 p.m.
