• Home Sweet Home
Coming off of an 11-game road swing, the UCSB softball team will finally open at home this weekend as they host the Gaucho Classic I at Campus Diamond. The four-day tournament features Houston, Nevada, UNLV, San Diego and UCSB. Last season, the Gauchos posted a 16-8 record within the friendly confines of Campus Diamond.

• Taking On The Best
UCSB has already faced five teams ranked among the nation's top-20 in both the ESPN.com/USA Softball and NFCA and three that were receiving votes. The tough schedule continues on Thursday as the Gauchos face Houston, which is ranked No. 23 in both polls.

• The Century Club
Head coach Brie Galicinao is just one win away from her 100th career victory. Galicinao, who is now in her fifth season at the helm of the UCSB softball program, has coached the Gauchos to a 99-122 cumulative record for a .448 winning percentage, the second best since the softball program went Division I in 1982.

• For The Record
The Gauchos carry a 1-10 record into this weekend's tournament. The last time UCSB started the season with just one win in its first 11 games was in 1988.

• Take Me To Your Leaders
Newcomers DeJanee Moore and Jessica Soria currently lead the Gauchos in hits, both with nine on the season. Moore is the team-leader in batting with her .321 average. Soria leads the squad with four stolen bases.

• The Lowdown On Lauren
Sophomore Lauren Boser led the Gauchos last weekend with her .400 batting average and .500 on-base percentage. In addition to getting a hit in four of the Gauchos' five games, she also drew a walk and was hit by a pitch.
