SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UCSB junior goalkeeper Tammy Lenham was named Big West Player of the Week after leading the Gauchos to an unbeaten road weekend in league play.
On Oct. 23, Santa Barbara won at UC Davis, 3-1. Lenham had three saves and allowed just a penalty kick goal. On Sunday, the Hermosa Beach, Calif., native logged 110 scoreless minutes as UCSB and Pacific battled to a 0-0 tie. In the game against the Tigers, Lenham had a career-high 12 saves, including nine after halftime.
Lenham and the Gauchos will play their regular season finale on Sunday, Nov. 1 when they host Cal Poly in a 1:00 p.m. game at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium. The game, which will be part of the "Blue-Green Rivalry Series for Sustainability," will decide the No. 1 seed in the Big West Tournament. A win by either team will give that team the top-seed. A tie, and Cal Poly would be No. 1.
