Junior goalkeeper Katie Wright (Mission Viejo, Calif.) had a career-high 12 saves to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 2-0 shutout win at No. 29 San Diego State on Sunday. Wright, a transfer from Nebraska, had nine of her 12 saves in the second half as the Gauchos won for the first time in 2006. The shutout was the second by Wright this season and both have come against nationally ranked teams. In UCSB's season-opener on Aug. 25, she blanked 17th-ranked USC in overtime, 0-0. On the year, Wright has allowed two goals in 290 minutes. She has 21 saves, a 0.62 goals against average and an outstanding save percentage of .913.
