WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - UCSB outshot George Mason 21-12 on Friday afternoon, but the Gauchos could put just one goal on the board, losing 3-1 in their final match at the Marriott Inn and Suites Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va.
Santa Barbara (2-4-1) had 13 shots on goal as compared to George Mason's (4-1-0) five, but Patriot goalkeeper Katie Frey had nine saves and they had three as a team.
George Mason scored in the 15th minute with Kelly Keelan took a pass from Alyssa Andersen and hit one to the right post from 16 yards out. The lead was increased to 2-0 in the 33rd minute when Theresa DeLucca took a corner kick from Tiana Kallenberger and poked in a shot from the far post.
The Gauchos cut the lead to 2-1 at the 36:25 mark when junior forward Kailyn Kugler put home a rebound for her second goal of the season.
The score remained 2-1 until early in the second half. In the 49th minute, Omolyn Davis headed in a shot after a free kick by Keelan.
Kylie McDonald led the Gauchos with five shots, three of which were on-frame.
UCSB will remain on the road for one more contest before returning home for seven of its final 11. The Gauchos travel to Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday, Sept. 17 for a 7:00 p.m. game against the Roadrunners. They return home on Friday, Sept. 25 to host Arizona in a 7:00 p.m. match at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium.

The Intercollegiate Athletics Ticket Office now has two parking spaces adjacent to the building and is now open on Saturdays, making it easier than ever for fans to purchase tickets. The ICA Ticket Office will be open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. The two parking spots, designated specifically for the ticket office, are already available during weekday hours, which are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
