Doherty attended Wilson High School in Long Beach where she played for Jason Kirkwood...She was a two-time First Team All-Moore League choice...As a senior team captain, she was also selected team MVP and Second Team All-CIF...Named to the Long Beach Press-Telegram "Dream Team" and played in the CIF Division I All-Star Game as a senior as well...As a junior Doherty won Wilson's Gold Boot Award and she was named the Moore League's Offensive MVP...Helped lead Wilson to four Moore League championships and as a senior she led the school to the CIF Division I semifinals, a first...At the club level, she played for Arsenal FC Premier...Coached by Bob Ferris and John Drescher...In 2005 Arsenal FC was a Premier League regular season finalist and Cal-South/Cal-North Permier State Champions...Prior to playing for Arsenal FC, she played for the Irvine Strikers...Doherty was a four-year ODP member...She was on the 1988 State Team for two years and in the Region IV Player Pool for one year.
