Rachael Appleton will once again add depth to the UCSB fullback line...Like last year, she will once again get a shot at a starting position or she could come off the bench.

2001
Appleton played in 12 matches as a freshman, starting eight...Assisted on a pair of goals from her defender position...Both of her assists came in the Gauchos 4-0 road win at UC Irvine.

Club/High School
Appleton played club soccer for the San Diego Surf from 1999 through 2001...Also played for the Vista Storm (1997-98) and the Fallbrook Fury (1993-96)...Appleton attended Fallbrook High School where she played midfield as well as defender...She was a four-time All-Avocado League player, including two first team selections...Selected First Team All-North County following her senior season...Scored 75 career goals, including a career-high 24 as a freshman...Coached by Carlos Basso.

Born January 18, 1983 in Mission Viejo, CA...Also played field hockey in high school, earning All-Avocado League and All-North County honors...Will major in Business Economics...The daughter of Tom and Kristy Appleton.
