2007: After being listed as a defender and midfielder in her first two seasons, Linda Allen is expected to play exclusively in the midfield for the 2007 Gauchos. 2006: Allen played in 18 matches as a sophomore, making 11 starts...Played mostly as a defensive midfielder and attempted just one shot...While she did not score a goal, Allen did assist on one in a 2-0 victory over Cal State Northridge. 2005: Appeared in all 19 games her freshman season, 14 of which she started... Her lone goal of the season came against UC Davis, a game-winner in the fourth minute...Her ten shots on the season were tied for the sixth-highest total for Santa Barbara. CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL
Allen attended Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, Calif....She was selected Metro Area Player of the Year in 2005 by the Sacramento Bee...A two-time Sacramento Bee All-Metro Team selection...Allen was selected the Sierra Valley Conference MVP in 2005 and she was a four-time First Team All-Sierra Valley Conference selection...She was also chosen Ponderosa's Most Valuable Offensive Player three times...Allen set her high school's record for career goals with 60, career assists with 55 and career points with 175...She also set school marks for goals in a season with 22, assists in a season with 17 and points in a season with 61...She was the Sierra Valley Conference scoring leader all four of her high school seasons...Allen helped to lead Ponderosa to two CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division II championships, three straight trips to the finals and three Sierra Valley Conference titles...Coached by Henry Reis and Greg Spangler...At the club level she played for the San Juan Spirits of 87 Blue...She was team captain and team-leader in assists...Helped guide her club to the U.S. Club Soccer Regional championships in 2003 and 2004...Sprits were also Cal-North State Cup semifinalist.
