SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women's soccer program has signed 10 high school and community college athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2018 season head coach Paul Stumpf announced Friday.
"We are very excited about the new group of young ladies who will be joining the Gaucho Women's Soccer Program," said head coach Paul Stumpf. "We have made sure in our recruiting process that we actively recruit those who are good soccer players, good students, high character people, and those who have a sincere interest in all that UCSB has to offer its student-athletes. They all come from great club programs that have done a great job of preparing them for the next level in their soccer careers."
Sarah Arnaudon – F/MF – 5-4 – Mustang SC – Monte Vista HS – Alamo, Calif.
Sarah Arnaudon is an attacking midfielder…Competed for Mustang SC…Was part of the PDP state pool and a USSF Market Training Center invitee…Coached by Pat Uriz, Mike Kelley and Neil McGuire at the club level…Attends Monte Vista High School…Has scored 26 goals and 13 assists in her career…Was her team's leading scorer in 2016…Earned First Team All-East Bay Athletic League in 2016…Helped Monte Vista to the 2015 EBAL Championship…Plays center midfield in high school…Is team Team Captain for the 2017-18 season…Coached by Chris Lum.

Mackenzie Hatanaka is a an athletic goalkeeper…Plays for the Davis Legacy SC…Helped Davis Legacy to the 2105 and 2016 Blues Cup titles, the 2016 NPL National championship and the 2017 NPL Fall League championship…Also played for Woodland Soccer Club – Arsenal from 2005-15…Member of the NorCal State Pool from 2012-14 and PDP Regional Team from 2010-12…Attends Woodland High School…Has 51 shutouts in 76 matches midway through her senior season…Her career goals against average is below 0.65…A three-time All-Tri Counties League choice and team MVP…Named Defensive TCL MVP following her sophomore season and overall MVP following her junior year…Helped Woodland HS to three straight section championships…Plays for Andres Olmedo.

Natalie Hill will compete for a major minutes as a freshman at UCSB…Played for Mountain View/Los Altos Soccer Club…Played ECNL since 2014…Starting goalkeeper all four year on ECNL and has played goalkeeper since third grade…Team Captain in 2017 and 2018…Attends Henry M. Gunn High School…At the high school level, Hill plays forward and midfield…A four-year starter…Has scored 46 goals by the midway point of her senior season…Tallied 18 goals as a junior…Was SCVAL El Camino MVP following her junior season…Was SCVAL Freshman of the Year in 2015 and Sophomore of the Year in 2016…Team Captain as a junior and sophomore…Is also a cross country and track athlete in high school…Plays for Juan Mayora.

Lauren McCulloch is forward who will bring outstanding speed to UCSB…Competed for Lamorinda SC…Lamorinda became part of the U.S. Developmental Academy in 2017…Played primarily right wing for her club team, but she can also play right and left fullback as well as left wing…Attended Miramonte High School…Helped her team to a pair of CIF North Coast Section championships…Coached by Mohammad Mohammad…Finishing school at The Athenian School.

Lauren Moss – Midfielder – 5-5 – Florida Gulf Coast – Boulder HS – Boulder, Colo.
Lauren Moss comes to UCSB from Florida Golf Coast and has solid NCAA Division I experience…A center midfielder, Moss played in 12 of 19 games at FGCU, totaling 151 minutes…FGCU won its league championship for the eighth straight year and then won its league tournament to move into the NCAA Tournament…Competed for Boulder FC at the club level…Was Team Captain from sixth grade on during her time with Boulder FC…Helped her club to back-to-back State Cup Finals and to the National Cup championship in 2016…Attended Boulder High School…where she played holding and attacking midfield as well as center back…First Team All-Front Range League, First Team All-Conference, Honorable Mention All-Regiona nd Honorable Mention All-State…A four-time Team Captain…Played for Carlos Real.=

Katherine Sheehy – Forward – 5-5 – Santa Barbara City College – La Cañada HS – Altadena, Calif.
Katherine Sheehy is a transfer from Santa Barbara City College who will compete for playing time on the wing…At SBCC, she scored 25 goals and 15 assists for 65 points in her two seasons…Was named First Team All-Western State Conference as a freshman and sophomore…First Team All-West Region and Second Team All-American in 2017-18…Selected WSC North Player of the Year in 2017-18…Helped SBCC to Regional Championship as a freshman and sophomore…SBCC was undefeated in the WSC in 2017-18 and was the CCCAA State Final runner-up…In the semifinal game, Sheehy scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time, propelling the Vaqueros to the state title game…At the club level, played for LA Premier FC where she was teammates with Chloe Montano…Attended La Cañada High School…A First Team All-Rio Hondo League choice following her junior and senior seasons…Named Rio Hondo League MVP in 2015-16…Helped her team to an undefeated league season and CIF Southern Section championship game in 2013-14…Played for Aissam Barroudi, Eddie Garcia and Louie Bilowitz.

Jessica Wright is a tall, athletic forward who should play immediately…Played for LA Galaxy San Diego at the club level…United Stats Youth Soccer National Champions in 2016…USYSNC Best 11…Wright score the game-winning goal in the finals of the USYS National Championship game in 2016…Selected for the US Club Soccer's ID2 Training Camp in 2014 and the US U14 Girls National Team Camp in 2013…Attends Torrey Pines High School…Helped her team to CIF San Diego Section and Avocado League titles as a sophomore and junior…Also runs track in high school.

She is good with her back to goal, but also has good speed to get in behind. Elise Ziem is a lefty forward who could see action immediately…Competed for Lamorinda SC Developmental Academy…Helped team to the Surf Cup Championship in 2016…Attends Miramonte High School…Was Honorable Mention All-North Coast Section in 2015-16…Helped Miramonte HS to the 2014-15 CIF North Coast Section Championship…Played for Mohammad Mohammed.
"We like getting one or two natural lefties into each recruiting class, and Elise fills that role for us this year. She is pacy, feisty, and also very good in possession coming from her club environment. She has the ability to play as an outside back, wide midfielder, and a wide striker.
