SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Save the date because on Tuesday, Feb. 24, UC Santa Barbara will participate in a pair of Pink Zone events in honor of breast cancer awareness.
Beginning at 2 p.m. at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium, the UCSB baseball team will wear pink hats and wear pink sweat bands in their game against UCLA. Season tickets for baseball and the preseason No. 30 ranked Gauchos are still available - and come with a free hat - by clicking here.
Then at 7 p.m. in the Thunderdome the UCSB women's basketball team will host Oregon State in a Pink Zone event where tickets are just $1.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to both events and will be able to purchase UCSB Pink Zone items. Available for purchase are pink UCSB baseball hats - like the ones the baseball team will wear - at both events as well as pink shirts designed by the women's basketball team. These shirts will be worn during warm-ups prior to tip-off and available for purchase at halftime of the game with a portion of the proceeds going to help raise breast cancer awareness.
Prior to the game catch up with one of the most popular players in UCSB women's basketball history, Stacy Clinesmith '00. Join former UCSB Women's Head Basketball Coach, Mark French, and fellow Gauchos in welcoming Stacy as she shares her Gaucho experiences, and talks about her current career as Oregon State University's women's basketball Assistant Director of Operations. The reception, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will take place in the Phil Womble Hall of Champions, located in the Intercollegiate Athletics building.
