SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Sha'rae Gibbons scored a career-high 20 points, and Jessica Wilson added 18 to lead the UC Santa Barbara women's basketball team to a 95-82 win on the road at Santa Clara on Thursday.

The Gauchos (3-3) outscored the Broncos (4-2) 19-6 in the last 5:47 of the game. Guard Chisa Ononiwu started the run by making a 12-foot jumper from just off the right-hand side of the key. Bronco guard Elizabeth Doran missed a key three-point attempt with just under four minutes to play, but forward Jen Gottschalk collected the rebound. Gottschalk however was whistled for an offensive foul, giving the ball back to the Gauchos. After a turnover, Gottschalk was fouled while shooting by UCSB forward Whitney Warren. Gottschalk missed the first free throw, but a Gaucho lane violation gave her another free throw attempt. She hit the next two, pulling Santa Clara to within two, 82-80.

After UCSB lost the ball again, the Gauchos Wilson came up with another steal. Following a missed three-point attempt by Tracey Walker, Wilson made another lay-up to give the Gauchos an 86-80 lead.

A Gottschalk lay-up with 1:19 left pulled Santa Clara to within 86-82, but UCSB sophomore Jordan Franey took a nice pass from Wilson and drained a long three-pointer to give her team an 89-82 edge with just 1:08 to play in he game. With 45 seconds left, Gibbons made a pair of free throws to extend the advantage to 91-82.

Two free throws apiece by Wilson and Whitney Warren gave the Gauchos their final lead, 95-82.

The Gauchos, 3-3, had six players score in double-figures. The Gauchos will remain on the road for their next two games. On Thursday, Dec. 6, UCSB will play at Portland State, and then, on Saturday, Dec. 8, the Gauchos will play the University of Oregon in a game at the Rose Garden in Portland. The team will play its next home game on Monday, Dec. 17, when it hosts Pepperdine at the Thunderdome.
