Finished her inaugural collegiate campaign averaging 5.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest...Her 17.9 minutes per game was tops among all Gaucho reserves... Lisa Willett traveled only a short distance to attend UCSB after prepping at Santa Barbara High School...Enjoyed great success in each of her four seasons playing for Coach Andrew Butcher...She was named All-Channel League was well as All-County while the Dons won four consecutive City Championships...Steadily improved during high school career, averaging 10 points a game as a freshman, and then 15, 17 and 23 in the following three years...This trend is also reflected by annual increases in rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots...She scored a career-high 38 points against San Marcos during her senior year and graduated as the Dons' all-time leading scorer...Also had 12 steals in a single game vs. Rio Mesa as a junior...Willett was a SBHS Scholar-Athlete and was one of 20 graduates to be named a Distinguished Don.
Lisa Marie Willett was born on August 16, 1982 in Santa Barbara to Rory and Barbara Willett...Though her favorite athlete is Vince Carter, her favorite team is the Lakers...Was also recruited by Penn State, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Colorado State and Pepperdine...Her most memorable sports moment was hitting a shot at the buzzer to defeat Ventura in the third round of CIF playoffs as a senior...Willett's favorite author is William Shakespeare and her favorite movie is "Shakespeare in Love"...An intrepid traveler, Willett backpacked through Europe each of the past two summers.
