Philosophy

UCSB Women's basketball camps are led by second year head coach, Carlene Mitchell, her staff, as well as current and former Gaucho players. Both assistants on Coach Mitchell's staff have compiled a very strong basketball resume; Coach Zurich played for the 2007 national championship contenders, Rutgers University while Coach Jarrett played four years for the Bruins of UCLA.

Our camps are designed to teach fundamentals, motivate individuals and increase the desire to compete. Each camp will include on-court demonstrations led by Coach Mitchell and performed by UCSB players. Campers will be taught the skills implemented in Gaucho day to day practices and have the opportunity to compete against other campers/teams. Camp competitive games will include not only traditional on-court games like: (1 on 1, 3 on 3, 5 on 5) but fun competition such as: Hot Shot, 1/2 court shots, team talent shows, pool activities, etc. Camp prizes will be given!

Each camp session will take place in the heralded, UCSB Thunderdome. Campers who stay overnight will get to experience Gaucho living as they will dorm on campus where UCSB players stay during the regular school year.
