SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UCSB Athletics, partnered with Santa Barbara Airport, will proudly celebrate Girls and Women in Sports Day with a special event on the UCSB campus on Saturday, Feb. 2.
The Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration will run from 11 am until 1 pm at the UCSB Lacrosse Fields, located on Stadium Road.
Participants will have the chance to meet Gaucho mascot, Olé, take-on a soccer obstacle course and try their hands at shot-putting, along with several other activities.
The first 150 girls to complete all the activities will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Santa Barbara Airport and everyone in attendance will receive a poster, autographs from Gaucho student-athletes and a ticket to the women's basketball game that afternoon against Cal State Fullerton at 2 pm.
Women's basketball coaches Heather Zurich and Natalie Jarrett will also be on-hand to speak about their experiences as Division I athletes.
The event will include a lunch from Silvergreens to be served at 12:30 pm.
