SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Under the bright lights of ESPN, the UC Santa Barbara women's basketball team will open up the second round of Big West Conference play as it hosts rival Cal Poly on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Making the day that much bigger for all fans is that UCSB will induct its latest Legend of the 'Dome, Erin Alexander, during a halftime ceremony.
Alexander, who now goes by her married name of Brown, was UCSB's career points leader when she left school in 1997, having scored 1,588 career points. She still holds the Gaucho record for three-pointers and points in a game (40 vs. USC in 1996) and her career points are now fifth all-time.
The Santa Ynez native was the first UCSB player to make the WNBA, playing for the Los Angeles Sparks. The 1997 Big West Player of the Year, Erin ranks fourth and fifth in single-season point totals and her 13.9 career scoring average is fifth in school history.
Tickets to the game are available by calling 893-UCSB or by clicking here.
