Josh Horton Shines As Men's Cross Country Finishes Second At Stanford Invitational

Josh Horton placed fifth and teammate Eric Gans finished sixth, to lead the UC Santa Barbara men's cross country team to second-place finish at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday in Palo Alto.
Horton finished the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:22. Eric Gans, a graduate of nearby Dos Pueblos High School and another junior, finished in a time of 25:24. Brandon von Geunthner finished 18th in a time of 25:51.
For the Gauchos, it was an oustanding meet because it meant that they outran defending Big West Champion Cal Poly and PAC Ten power UCLA.
